Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.

Confidence in God

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has a great reward. Hebrews 10:35
I. What is confidence in God?
Confidence means trust, refuge, safety, and rest (Isaiah 30:15). Psalms 118:8-9 explain that it is better to trust in God than in man. We are used to trusting in people or things, but remember people fail because they are human, and things like money, property, or insurance can be stolen or lose value.
II. Let’s come boldly to God’s throne. Hebrews 4:16
A veces, Sometimes, during trials, we tend to complain because we don’t see the answer to our prayers but if we have confidence in God, He will come through for us. He never arrives late. He always comes at the right time.
Be sure that your heart is free of sin, because sin can bring guilt and take away your confidence. Ask forgiveness to God and your confidence will return so you can boldly come to His throne of grace to get help in any situation (Mark 10:49-50).
III. In what can we have confidence?
God has given us promises to be confident about:
1) God’s mercy (Psalms 13:5). His mercy is new every morning.
2) God’s Word (Psalms 119:42). His Word is infallible and His promises are eternal.
3) God hears us (1 John 5:14). When you pray, remember to proclaim God’s promises.
4) God’s peace (Isaiah 26:3). He has promised to keep you in perfect peace in every area of your life.
IV. Refuse doubt and unbelief.
Don’t set up alternate plans for your life instead of trusting completely in the Lord. He must be your ONLY plan (Isaiah 31:1). If you trust in God with all of your heart, you will never be ashamed. Face your doubt and unbelief by proclaiming that your confidence remains in the God of Israel (Psalms 27:2-3). Having confidence in God is something personal. No one may do it for you. It must be your own decision. Trusting in the Lord in the midst of sickness, conflict, or debt, is a decision and when you make it, remember to have confidence in God until the very end! (Psalms 37:5)
